Normally, when you use a mechanical pencil, the lead wears down on the writing side first, so the lead gets progressively scratchier and sharper as you use it. Then, you have to rotate the pencil or just accept that your writing will have an inconsistent width and feel.

The innovative Uni Kuru Toga lead advance system solves this problem by automatically rotating the lead as you write or draw. Each time a Kuru Toga tip touches the page, a ratcheting mechanism inside the grip rotates slightly, so that all sides of the lead are worn down more evenly.

In addition to the clever rotating lead, Kuru Toga has all of Mitsubishi Pencil’s usual attention to detail. A replaceable eraser is tucked under the end cap, a small rubberized O-ring near the tip prevents slipping, and a clip allows you to attach Kuru Toga to your notebook cover or hold it in a pocket.

Refill this pencil with any 0.5 mm pencil lead. We recommend Uni Smudge-Proof Lead for use with Kuru Toga pencils. Accepts Uni Type S refill erasers.
